Eco Schools
We are very proud to have been awarded a “Green Flag” on three occasions which gives us Eco Schools Status. This has been achieved over many years of hard work and the implementation of the following strategies:
- Eco Council
- Collection of paper, cardboard, plastic and batteries for recycling
- Collection of Food Waste from every classroom
- Eco Club
- Use of the school garden and polytunnel to grow plants and vegetables
- Outdoor Learning Days
- Junk Art competitions
- Cash for Clobber recycling scheme
- Battery recycling
The children are very much involved in all aspects of environmental work in school.
Outdoor Classroom Day
Twice a year, Carr joins children from around the world in celebrating Outdoor Classroom Day. On this day we make a point of getting out into the great outdoors for our lessons.
The first Outdoor Classroom Day this year was held on Thursday 5th November - I'm sure the weather in Australia was a lot better than here!!
